He went on to earn a B.A. in psychology, cum laude, from Upper Iowa University and graduated at the top of his class from Howard University School of Law with a J.D. in 2003. That same year, he was admitted to practice in Maryland and joined the Maryland State Bar Association, contributing to its criminal law and practice, family and juvenile law, and solo and small firm practice sections.
