Hired Law firm 1989-1992This law firm represented me in a malpractice case and in the end they committed legal malpractice. They went into court and cancel the court hearing without our knowledge and took it to an arbitration. The legal malpractice was planned. I arrive early at the arbitration office and was walking around , I saw James McCarthy in the room with the defendants and I overheard James McCarthy speaking to the defendant about my case in details their personal benefits. I overheard their conversation and was shocked Towards the end of this Attorney James McCarthy representation, he would not return phone calls and the spouse started to feel uncomfortable .. I found out after the legal misrepresented that James McCarthy did a lot of his dishonesty through the court and at the arbitration. One thing this attorney did not know. When I arrived at the arbitration office I went looking around and saw James McCarthy and the defendant in the office talking. I was shocked by what I heard. He did legal malpractice for the defendant benefit and his benefit ( daughter) After the legal malpractice I started to investigate. Information I got from the Clerk’s office and another attorney regarding my case was dishonesty and he committed legal malpractice.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
