Attorney Information

Overview

Matthew J. Fausch joined TKCK as an associate attorney in January 2024, where he will primarily be handling workers’ compensation cases in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Prior to joining TKCK, Matt worked as a legal intern for a workers’ compensation defense firm before attending law school. While attending law school, Matt worked for a firm which represented injured workers before the Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) as a Law Clerk. At both firms, Matt’s primary duty was to assist attorneys with preparing workers’ compensation cases for litigation, and he attended Conciliations at the DIA on behalf of both injured workers and large insurers during this time.

Matt received a B.A. in Communication from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 2019, and earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 2023. He was admitted to practice before the Massachusetts Bar later that same year, and in 2024, he was also admitted to practice before the New Hampshire Bar.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
