Overview
Thomas M. Wielgus began working for TKCK in June 2011. Prior to joining the firm, Tom worked from 1998-2011 as an Assistant General Counsel, Special Assistant Attorney General and Manager of Civil Litigation for the Department of Industrial Accidents Workers’ Compensation Trust Fund, specializing in workers’ compensation and civil litigation.
Tom has extensive experience in workers’ compensation litigation including insurance coverage, second injury petitions and latency injuries. In addition, Tom’s appellate experience before the Reviewing Board and Massachusetts Appeals Court have resulted in several published appellate victories including Zangao v MB Seafood and Dearmon’s Case, both of which were cited in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s annual issue of “Most Important Opinions”.
Prior to coming to TKCK, Tom worked in antitrust law in the Washington, DC area focusing on DOJ and FTC regulatory compliance. He also served as Legal Fellow for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce where he specialized in labor and employment legislation.
Tom earned his BS Degree in Business Administration from Western New England University in 1989 and his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 1995. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.
