Overview
Mernaysa Rivera-Bujosa is a 2002 graduate of Tufts University and in 2005 she received her Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law. She is fluent in English, Spanish and French, and she is licensed to practice in MA and NH. Following law school, she worked at an established law firm in Somerville, MA – Law Offices of Frank N. Dardeno, LLP. During that time, she gained extensive experience in the areas of real estate conveyancing, litigation, real estate development, real estate litigation, business litigation, dispute resolution, debt collection, and defense against collection actions.
At present, Mernaysa's areas of practice include: all areas of real estate law including closings, purchase & sales, condominium development, contracts, civil litigation and dispute resolution, business litigation, collections and defense against collections, uniform commercial code (UCC), fraud, construction litigation, consumer protection, negligence, personal injury, landlord/tenant actions and dispute resolutions. She limits her divorce practice to actions that do not involve child custody issues. She is also a title insurance agent, representing clients in the leasing, sale, and financing of real estate.
In the area of community services, Mernaysa is a Co-Host of the City of Somerville’s Chamber of Commerce, “Talking Business” in City T.V. She is also a Board Member and the Clerk of both the Somerville Chamber of Commerce and the Somerville Community Access Television.
Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and fluent in Spanish and French, Attorney Mernaysa Rivera is licensed to practice in NH and MA. She attended the New England School of Law from 2002 - 2005, and served as a Senior Literary Editor to the New England Journal of Civil and Criminal Confinement. Following law school, she continued to work at the firm through end October 2010, where she won extensive experience as first or second chair to the firm's litigation practice, and as real estate conveyancer or title insurer. At present, Mernaysa's primary areas of practice are civil litigation and real estate law, including contract, business, real estate, collections, UCC, fraud, construction, consumer protection, negligence and eviction representation. She is also a title insurance agent, representing clients in the leasing, sale, and financing of real estate.
