Susan originally hails from the Ocean State of Rhode Island. She started her professional career as a registered pharmacist. In the late 1990’s, she decided to pursue a new career and enrolled in law school where she found her true passion. Susan began her legal career as a Clerk to the Justices of the Probate and Family Court serving Barnstable, Norfolk and Worcester Counties where she gained invaluable experience not only on the law, but also the practical workings of the Probate and Family Court. In 2003, Susan transitioned to private practice with a concentration on representing clients in all facets of Domestic Relations and Probate Law. She also enjoys assisting clients with Estate and Elder Law Planning needs.
Attorney Rossi Cook has served as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem (Category D, F, G, I and Q), a Special Master, Discovery Master, Conservator and Roger’s Monitor. Susan’s pharmaceutical/medical background has been an invaluable asset to clients and the court, particularly in cases involving Guardianships/Rogers monitoring, Conservatorships, Special Master appointments or Guardian Ad Litem (Category F) appointments where expertise in medical needs of a party or a child is at issue.
Susan had the distinction of being selected as a Super Lawyer in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2021, 2023 and 2024. Named as a Top Women’s Lawyer in 2017. First Justice of the Probate and Family Court Award for Pro Bono Excellence 2012, 2015, and 2017. In addition to being a litigator, Susan is trained in Mediation and Collaborative Law. She is also a trained conciliator.
She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Rhode Island Bar Association, Norfolk County Bar Association, Barnstable Bar Association, Massachusetts Association of Guardian Ad Litem (MAGAL), Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), and Massachusetts Family and Probate American Inns of Court.
*Former adjunct professor of Pharmacy Law at the University of Rhode Island.
*Susan represents clients before the Board of Registration in Pharmacy in RI and MA Board.
Susan is currently accepting cases in the following Probate and Family Courts: Norfolk County, Bristol County, Barnstable County, Plymouth County, Worcester County and Middlesex (Lowell) County.
Outside of work, Susan enjoys spending time with her family, doting on her grandchild, traveling, reading, and playing tennis and pickleball.
