Attorney Information

Overview

"In a legal dispute, people are often confused about their options. I've handled hundreds of cases over the course of my career and am familiar with everything from settlement negotiations to depositions to mediation to jury trials. My long experience with both plaintiffs and defendants means I can anticipate outcomes and strategize effectively from both sides of a situation. I take pride in guiding people toward resolutions they can feel good about."

Chris is an experienced trial attorney who has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in courts across Massachusetts. He has prevailed in cases where his commercial or individual clients overcame long odds. Chris works with his clients to develop a litigation strategy with an outcome in mind. He represents parties in all areas of civil litigation including commercial disputes, personal injury, and individual matters. Previously he practiced law as in-house counsel at an insurance company, and represented individuals and businesses in lawsuits involving personal injury, property, and contractual matters. During law school he worked in the transactional group of a large law firm, on regulatory matters for a bank, and on litigation for an energy firm and an insurance company. Prior to law school, Chris worked for an investment bank and an investment management firm.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
