Attorney Information
Overview
Clinton Dalton is the Founder and Managing Director of Brigantine Law, based in Topsfield, Massachusetts, with additional offices in Gloucester and North Andover. He practices family law and divorce, representing clients through litigation, mediation, and collaborative divorce at both the trial and appellate levels, and also drafts prenuptial, postnuptial, and nonmarital cohabitation agreements and handles guardianships and conservatorships.
Before entering the practice of law, Mr. Dalton worked for the United States Department of Defense tracing hidden money in support of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) efforts. That forensic asset-tracing background gives his family law clients a distinct advantage in complex and high-asset divorces where assets may be hidden or difficult to trace. He also previously served as Director of the San Francisco office of Human Rights Watch.
Mr. Dalton earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Stanford University (1992), an M.A. in Liberal Arts from the Graduate Institute at St. John's College (1995), and his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law (2003), where he received a Jurisprudence Award. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2006 and is a member of the Massachusetts, Boston, Greater Newburyport, and Essex County Bar Associations, the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation (MCFM), and the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council (MCLC).
Mr. Dalton lives in Ipswich, Massachusetts, with his wife and two children.
