Overview
Mr. Sullivan is an experienced civil litigation attorney who has tried more than one hundred civil jury cases to conclusion. His insurance defense practice has led him to defend policy holders in state, federal and arbitration forums in a variety of negligence, breach of contract, and intentional tort civil actions. He has defended municipalities, town officials and school departments.
Mr. Sullivan has represented insurers in subrogation, consumer protection, M.G.L. c. 93A/c. 176D bad faith litigation and workers' compensation cases. He has researched, analyzed and drafted opinions to insurers on policy interpretation, statutory interpretation and contribution/indemnification/subrogation issues.
Mr. Sullivan has staffed, organized and run in-house seminars for insurance carriers and self-insureds on claims investigation, witness statements and their utilization in trial preparation by defense counsel. He has conducted and prepared seminar publications including An Overview of Massachusetts Product Liability Law, An Overview of Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Law - Summary of Law and Strategy and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Claims Handbook.
His litigation practice includes construction contract, mechanics liens and other real estate matters. He has represented condominium associations, subcontractors and homeowners in zoning, design and construction disputes.
