Attorney Information

Overview

Adam Dreher joined Nacht Law in 2025 after nearly a decade as a prosecutor. He was born and raised in Ypsilanti, but following the attacks on September 11, 2001, he enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Cavalry Scout with two combat tours to Iraq. Adam returned to Ypsilanti using the G.I. Bill to graduate from Eastern Michigan University and Michigan State University College of Law. At both schools, he began to hone his trial skills early by representing each school at mock trial and moot court competitions across the country. Before becoming a prosecutor, he interned in the appellate division of the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office, where he gained valuable experience in Michigan’s appellate courts.

As a prosecutor, Adam worked hundreds of cases ranging from low-level misdemeanor offenses to complex international drug-trafficking prosecutions. He began his career in Ionia County, Michigan, where he prosecuted drunk driving offenses, assault and battery cases, and felony property crimes. Early in his career, Adam argued a case before the Michigan Supreme Court, a rare opportunity for a county prosecutor, which showcased his ability to master complex legal issues and advocate persuasively at the highest level of Michigan’s judiciary. Later, Adam joined the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, where he was assigned to prosecute homicide offenses and non-fatal shootings within the City of Detroit. The capstone of Adam’s career as a prosecutor was his appointment as an Assistant United States Attorney, where he prosecuted violent crime and drug trafficking offenses in Washington, D.C. At each level, Adam excelled in the courtroom.

Adam’s success in the courtroom is a direct result of his preparation outside of it. At Nacht Law, Adam’s practice focuses on employment law and criminal defense. Drawing on his extensive trial experience and investigative background, he provides clients with skilled, strategic representation in complex and high-stakes matters.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
