Hired Attorney 2022I would not recommend her. She was hired to represent my son. She was not familiar with the facts of the case and made no effort to find out. She was paid $3,000.00 and did not once sit down with him to hear his side. She pushed a plea deal on him just to rid herself of his case. I attended a zoom hearing where she was late and said she had just found out about the hearing, which I knew was a lie because I had spoken to her earlier and had informed her of what had happened and about the hearing.

Hired Attorney 2020-2021I would also strongly agree Jessica Bray is not aggressive or very knowledgeable about the law. She was far more interested in ending my case instead of defending me. Once she had the retainer, she was done.

Hired Attorney 2019-2020I would not recommend using Jessica Bray or her firm. I requested an aggressive attorney and she did not deliver. She can perhaps handle wills, but if you need to go to court, find a strong, qualified firm who will take an interest in your case, not just your retainer.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
