Overview
Thomas C. Richardson was born in 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tom graduated with honors from Kalamazoo College in 1977, and received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1980.
Tom does estate planning and probate and trust administration. He also handles bankruptcy matters, including cases in which he is appointed to serve as trustee, and State court actions in which he is appointed receiver. He has been trained as a mediator and greatly enjoys helping people resolve their disputes in that role.
Tom is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Federal Bar Association of West Michigan, recently receiving its Nims-Howard Civility Award. He is a member of the Kalamazoo County Bar Association and co-chair of its Memorial Section. He has taught Probate & Trust Administration and Elder Law at local colleges.
Tom is actively involved in community activities. He has been on the Salvation Army Board for over 40 years. He is a member and Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Kalamazoo. He is a graduate of Leadership Kalamazoo, a mentor at Woods Lake Elementary and an active volunteer with Citizens Mediation Service, Ministry with Community and United Christian Services.
