Hired Attorney 2024I had him represent me and he never knew what was going on with my file. Overbilled me for time spent, claims 1 min phone calls were 45 mins , emails took several hours, and he billed me because he had to devote time to review how to file with the Judge. I've had terrible experience with Goldman Law firm. I'm not paying and will gladly meet them in mediation to go over how James ripped me off.

Hired Attorney 2023I spent around $15,000 on his representation and it would be one thing if we lost the case but that wasn't what happened, he failed to even file the paperwork right to set up a court hearing, so I spent 15,000 to get a hearing date that i never got, because he failed to file in a timely manner, then once you fire this attorney they send you a bill for $400 to sign a paper saying they are fired, seek representation elsewhere save your money He may be a great person and this may have just been a bad couple of months for him but in my experience very poor performance over all.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
