Overview

Jonny Waara was born and raised in Palmer, Michigan. He attended Negaunee High School where he graduated as the class salutatorian. Following high school, he attended Michigan State University. In 1993, he obtained a Bachelor of Science pre-law degree and also became a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta honor societies. Mr. Waara then obtained his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1996. Since graduating from law school, he has been fighting for injured victims in the Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin and worked at Petrucelli & Waara for nearly 30 years. He has now opened Waara Law in Negaunee and will continue to serve the entire Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Northern Wisconsin. Jonny Waara practices personal injury law in all areas including cases arising from automobile collisions, premises liability, medical malpractice and workplace injuries.

Mr. Waara is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Wisconsin and is admitted to practice before all state courts in Michigan, Wisconsin, the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Association for Justice, the Dickinson Iron County Bar Association and the Northern Michigan Trial Skills Committee. He was president of the WIC Foundation and is actively involved in volunteering, sponsoring, and coaching local youth athletic teams. He lives in Iron River with his wife Barbara, a teacher, and they have three successful adult children, Jaclyn, Austin, and Madeline.
