Attorney Information
Overview
“I was always drawn to health law because I originally wanted to be a doctor as a young kid, but quickly found I was better at reading/research and writing than science and math. As I continued to grow and learn, I began to identify several issues with the manner and quality of healthcare provided in the country and how individuals can fall into the system's cracks, leading to negligent medical care and poor outcomes. Working at McKeen has allowed me to fight for those neglected by our healthcare system in a way that fits my strengths - appellate research and writing.”
Jeffrey Bomber joined McKeen & Associates in 2023. Before joining the firm, he worked on the defense side of healthcare law.
He graduated from Penn State Dickinson Law School in 2021, where he was certified in health law and policy; served as a mentor for the Women’s Law Caucus; as a tutor in Civil Procedure; and was a Phi Alpha Delta Legal fraternity member. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University with a double major in political science international relations and philosophy.
When Bomber is not practicing law, he is at a Red Wings or Lions game, playing guitar, or visiting his parents in his hometown in the Upper Peninsula where he enjoys boating, hiking and fishing.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
