Hired Attorney 2024If this guy hasn't already been disbarred, it can't be far off. Karma is coming for the worst attorney ever. He was handed an interim suspension for his law license in January of 2025.

Hired Attorney 2023-2024He was hired in 2023 for a property issue. After the last payment, like in other reviews, he was almost unreachable. He would not return calls, emails or texts in a timely manner. We did not get regular updated without contacting the Judges Chambers. I would not recommend him to my enemy. He also, does not return your personal property, since his location is a PO Box. Please return my personal property.

Hired Attorney 2024We are so frustrated with John Calvin, who started a lawsuit for us, asked us to pay up to the point we were at which we did and then we can’t get a hold of him to find out where we stand what the other attirney has been informed up to date, we got one quick call after that he was in court said he called the next day but he Never did. It has almost been two weeks and we have repeatedly called left messages. Emailed and cannot get a response from him which we are sorry if he’s having personal trouble family trouble any kind of trouble but it takes two minutes to call the client or give it to somebody else to take care of, we left hanging and we don’t know what to do. We were pleased with what was being done before all of this disappearance stuff happened. We just need him to finish and we would change our review but being left stranded is SO unprofessional

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
