Samantha Smith Dickinson - Westland, MI

Samantha Smith Dickinson, Owner of The Smith Law Offices, graduated with Honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 2005 and with a Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law in 2008.

Samantha began her legal career, while in law school, working with an esteemed Plaintiff’s Personal Injury attorney in Detroit, Jon Garrett. Jon was a mentor and asset to Samantha as she learned the practice of law.

Samantha opened The Smith Law Offices, PC in early 2010. She focuses primarily in Family Law, including Divorce and Child Custody. Samantha has tried a substantial number of cases in Wayne, Oakland and Washtenaw Counties with excellent results. Samantha also practices in the areas of Bankruptcy, Chapters 7 and 13, Criminal Defense and Plaintiff Personal Injury. Samantha has earned the esteemed ranking of Super Lawyer Rising Star 5 years in a row, along with a number of other awards and certifications.

When asked what she would like clients to know about her, Samantha replied as follows: “It has been immensely rewarding representing my clients with vigor since The Smith Law Offices opened in 2010. However, I believe that in the last few years I have had the opportunity to develop my practice and hone in on my expertise. Personally, in the last few years I have gotten divorced, remarried and have had to adjust to co-parenting my five (5) year old son with my ex-husband. My entire life dynamic has changed, and I now see firsthand what people are going through when they come in to see me to discuss filing for divorce or other child custody issues. I know that I am not doing anything perfectly in my own life, but I do hope learning my own life lessons and learning from all of my own friends, family, past clients and colleagues, that I have created a knowledge base that adds significant value for my clients when dealing with Family Law issues.”

Samantha lives in the City of Livonia with her husband, 5-year-old son, 12-year-old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix and is awaiting the arrival of her Border Collie puppy in early fall. When not at court or in the office, Samantha heads the Parent Action Committee at her son’s school, is actively involved in her son’s numerous extracurricular activities and enjoys spending time traveling, attending concerts and sporting events, playing golf, enjoying the outdoors and binge watching tv shows on Netflix. Samantha is an avid Michigan State and Detroit sports fan.
