Attorney Information

Overview

I began my career at Hazelton Law Firm long before I ever imagined becoming an attorney. I started here as a legal assistant, learning the work from the ground up. Over the years, I moved into a paralegal role, working closely with clients and seeing firsthand how a serious injury can change the course of someone’s life. Those experiences shaped me. I realized I wanted to do more for the people who walked through our doors, and that calling ultimately led me to law school and right back home to Hazelton Law Group as an attorney.

Today, I am devoted solely to personal injury. I am licensed in Minnesota and North Dakota, and I represent individuals and families whose lives have been disrupted by someone else’s negligence. Every case is personal to me. I know my clients are going through something overwhelming, painful, and always unexpected. My job is to guide them through it with honesty, compassion, and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcome. Practicing in a smaller community has taught me that trust and communication matter just as much as legal skill, and I work hard to make sure my clients feel supported and understood every step of the way.

My husband and I are raising our two children in northern Minnesota, surrounded by the lakes and woods that shaped my own childhood. Our home is full, two kids, two cats, one dog, and plenty of joyful chaos. We spend as much time as we can outdoors, especially on the lake or exploring new places together. I love traveling, experiencing different cultures, and discovering great food along the way. When I’m home, you’ll often find me with a book in hand or working on a house or yard project, both help me recharge and stay grounded.

My path to becoming a lawyer wasn’t traditional, but it was intentional. I’ve seen personal injury work from every angle, and I know how much it matters to have someone in your corner who truly cares. That’s what I bring to every case: dedication, heart, and a commitment to fighting for the justice and compensation my clients deserve.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
