Patrick A. McDonald - Burnsville, MN

Patrick McDonald is an associate attorney with Gilbert Alden PLLC, starting in August 2021. He regularly assists clients in a variety of family law issues.

Patrick grew up in the small town of Welcome, MN, where he worked in a small farm up until he graduated from law school. Patrick attended Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN, where he graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in History. Patrick enrolled at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2018. Patrick is currently admitted to practice law in the State of Minnesota.

Patrick joined the firm with a diverse background. In addition to working at the farm during law school, Patrick also worked as a law clerk at a small personal injury firm in Minneapolis, eventually becoming an associate attorney in 2020. In this role, Patrick gained experience working with clients of diverse backgrounds, many of which were immigrants, honed his writing and research skills, and gained experience working on appellate cases, notably Staub v. Myrtle Lake Resort et al., which established a new law on proof of causation. During this time, Patrick gained additional legal experience in family and immigration law, working as a paralegal for a solo practice firm in Savage, MN.

Patrick currently resides in Burnsville with his fiancé, stepson, dog, and cat. In his free time, Patrick enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and watching movies.
