Firm Information
Overview
The law office of John A. Klassen, PA, is committed to protecting the civil rights of employees. From our convenient Minneapolis location, we serve clients in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota. Our firm was founded in 1996 by attorney John Klassen, and we have more than a decade of plaintiff's employment law and civil rights experience to help you litigate your claim and protect your rights.
Our cases have received national and international press coverage in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the International Herald Tribune, and public radio. Recent notable cases include the sexual harassment and discrimination cases we handled against the former Minneapolis fire chief and the Minneapolis Fire Department, as well as a mass defamation case against Minnesota Power. We also represented a plaintiff in one of the largest single plaintiff sexual harassment cases in Minnesota history.
Our clients rely on us to help right a wrong done by their employer. We may be able to get compensation for you and your family to regain financial stability and a sense of justice. If you are a whistleblower, or were harassed, discriminated or retaliated against at work, contact John A. Klassen, PA, for skilled, experienced legal counsel.
Committed to Protecting Employee Rights in the Workplace
We understand the issues that confront employees and workers in Minnesota. Our firm prides itself on defending employees' rights and fighting against employment discrimination based on race, age, gender, or sexual orientation. When employers discriminate or allow harassment and retaliation to take place or continue, we are dedicated to holding them accountable for their unlawful actions.
Our firm is also committed to protecting and defending whistleblower employees who report their employer's illegal actions. Employees cannot be punished for opposing or reporting their employer's suspected violations of state and federal laws. If an employer fired, demoted, or otherwise punished you for whistleblowing, we can help get compensation for that retaliation.
Defending the Civil Rights of Vulnerable People
If your child was abused at school or if your loved one was mistreated or abused in a state or private institution, we can help. We also represent children who are discriminated against at school or denied adequate programs due to educational or disability discrimination. For example, Minnesota's school age girls are entitled to the same athletic opportunities as boys, and all Minnesota children should be safe from abuse by those employed by educational institutions. We can help you hold a school district or private facility accountable for illegal actions and violations of your loved one's civil rights.
