Overview
With more than 27 years of experience, Scott provides legal counsel to individuals and closely held businesses in the areas of tax, business and estate planning. Licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin, his areas of concentration include business succession planning, coordinated estate planning for complex estates, and advising all types of families on transfer of assets as well as legacy and philanthropic planning during lifetime or upon death. Scott’s practice includes advising trust and estate fiduciaries (trustees and executors), beneficiaries and charitable organizations.
Scott has been inducted into the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), showing his dedication to, and adveancement in, the estate planning practice area. Scott has acted as chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association Probate and Trust Section Council, worked as former chair of its legislation committee, and has frequently appeared as an expert witness in trust and estate matters. He serves on numerous planned giving committees and is a regular faculty member and guest speaker on estate and tax-planning issues. Scott is a licensed CPA in the state of Minnesota.
