Attorney Information
Overview
For Anne G. Brown, being a lawyer is more than a profession-it's in her blood. A fourth-generation attorney, Anne has been practicing law for 30 years. She joined Sjoberg & Tebelius, P.A. in 2005, bringing to the firm a diverse background in several areas of law. Anne has experience as an appellate court law clerk, adjunct law professor, juvenile public defender, as well as an extensive and varied history as a private practitioner. This background allows her to easily connect and contribute her creative expertise to many different types of cases for our clients.
Anne appreciates how Sjoberg & Tebelius, P.A. addresses a broad range of legal areas, providing many opportunities to collaborate with her colleagues. She is skilled at breaking down complex issues into understandable components. She is known for being an efficient problem solver.
Her strong writing background has helped her become the "go-to" when it comes to research and preparation of persuasive arguments. Anne's desire is for clients to come away from their experience feeling as if she has helped make difficult situations easier to endure and that their expectations have been exceeded.
Anne has a passion for writing and is a published author of young adult fiction. Additionally, she is involved in the world of Irish dance, as well as grassroots community and youth organizations. Anne enjoys spending time with her children, reading, and getting away to her cabin on Lake Superior. She hopes to one day retire to Ireland (if only she could convince her husband to follow her).

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
