Hired Law firm 2024-2025My son was arrested for first degree murder in Rankin County in June of 2024. It was totally in self defense that he shot back killing the man that was inside his own home shooting at him, and when he had no choice but to return fire it ended up killing this man. Rankin county charged my son with murder. By the grace of God we found Toby Welch who knows the laws by the book and worked hard to prove self defense in my son's case he was able to get my son to go in front of the grand jury before an indictment was given, on March 5 2025 my son got to tell just what happened that night to the DA and Grand jury. The next morning at 6am my son was released on a No Bill decision from the Grand jury and was in a vehicle headed home by 7am Thursday morning. This just doesn't happen Toby Welch cares about his client's and will work with his clients so they get the best outcome on their case. If your in a situation like my son was looking at life in prison I can't tell you enough to hire Toby Welch as your attorney he is worth EVERY Penny and so much more. I'm FOREVER grateful to Toby Welch and his lawyer firm for me being able to hug and kiss my son again something I feared I would never get to do again outside a prison Thank you Toby Welch from the bottom of this mother's heart.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
