Hired Attorney 2020How is it to work with Stopher? Stopher is calm, knowledgeable, kind, honest, helpful & organized with his clients. Yet, he digs his claws into the other attorney. He is intimidating to the other side which I loved! My ex wished he had hired him. Throughout the process I always knew Stopher was acting in my best interests, keeping me informed, listening, giving practical advise, and making me aware of the risk v. reward in every decision. One of the best qualities in Stopher, which is rare in attorneys, is accessibility. I could always get in touch with him or he would call me back or email me within a few hours. I didn’t have to wait for days or weeks to get a response. I didn’t have to call his paralegal and beg for a call back. Stopher allowed me to have peace of mind through an emotional, gut-wrenching process, and there is no price for peace of mind. Most attorneys act like the client works for them. I’ve had a few attorneys in the past where I would leave their office and I would have a to-do list for them. Not with Stopher. I felt like he worked for me and we were a team. This resulted in a very favorable outcome. I would recommend Stopher to family and friends. He is in my opinion the best attorney on the Coast.... and I’ve hired just about everyone.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
