Attorney Information
Overview
Dee comes to Case Linden with extensive experience in federal and state courts. Most recently, she clerked for the Honorable Chief Judge Cynthia A. Norton in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri. Dee served as an intern to the Honorable Duane Benton at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and Magistrate Judge Willie J. Epps, Jr. at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. She also interned for Missouri state court judges Joshua C. Devine and Kayla Jackson-Williams of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court. Dee’s work for these courts and judges makes her a strong litigator, attentive to how judges evaluate evidence, apply the law, and decide matters in both trial and appellate settings.
Her private practice experience prior to joining the firm includes substantive work on cases involving workplace disputes (including allegations of discrimination, wage theft and wrongful termination), contract disputes, construction litigation, and bodily injury cases.
Prior to law school, Dee spent over a decade as a corporate human resources and business consultant with a primary focus on disputes between employees and employers, compliance, investigations and training. This background provides her with a well-grounded, practical perspective in defending employment litigation and engaging in dispute resolution.
During her time at the University of Missouri School of Law, Dee earned first place in both the Board of Advocates Client Interview Competition and the Jim H. Levin Mediation Competition. She earned a Certificate in Dispute Resolution while completing her legal studies. Dee also earned a Certificate in Mass Tort Multi-District Litigation at the Bolch Judicial Institute of Duke Law School. Most recently, she completed the Ross T. Roberts Trial Academy program at the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association & Foundation.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
