Attorney Information
Overview
Ken has practiced in all facets of family law since he began his legal career in 1974. He represents individuals in matters such as divorce, custody agreements, support, property division, modifications, enforcement and adoption. For clients pursuing divorce, modification and certain disputes, Ken will discuss three different approaches:
- Litigation
- Collaborative
- Mediation
During an initial consultation, Ken walks clients through what each scenario would look like and helps them determine the most appropriate process for their circumstances. Regardless of the model used, Ken's focus is to help his client in a cost effective manner. A vast majority of his divorce cases are resolved without the need of going to court. On the other hand, if it is in the client's best interest, Ken will recommend litigation.
Ken is one of the few attorneys in the St. Louis area that has specialized training and education to offer the collaborative divorce option. This model is based on cooperation among parties instead of hostility. An early proponent of this alternative approach, Ken was a founding member of the Collaborative Family Law Association. Ken also handles a broad range of real estate matters. He represents landowners, investors, lessors and lessees in matters such as sales and lease contracts, litigation, lease disputes, foreclosures, and evictions. Ken can also assist purchasers of real estate in quiet title actions in order to obtain a clear title. Additionally, Ken represents clients that wish to purchase properties at tax sales.
