Hired Attorney 2019-2020Old washed up ambulance chaser, he's reached his expiration date at minimum a decade ago, major pot head dope smoker, talks of himself to the point of us being nauseated. Hand writes on contracts for his "fee" he’s a total unprofessional. Told us we'd have a slim chance of getting $90k "boyyyy I don't know" we actually received $135k just by going to another lawyer in town that actually knew the law. Our lawyer says he does it to everyone tell them a low number so he can settle slightly up from what he told you for a quick close for ole' Gare to get his money with no effort, sleaze. Our attorney called in his other members in the office and they ALL had a horror story (Crowe screaming at the top of his lungs, when the client asked about their case, taking their $3k in retainer and leaving town for a month, on and on) of this guy, either in court, round town or people shell shocked coming in after they'd been over there first. Looks like some bomb went off in his old dirty office. Don't go to him. He's gross and stupid.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
