    Hired Attorney 2022-2023
About a year ago, I let my emotions override my common sense and I got into trouble. I confronted an individual who had tormented my son and my family for years and let’s say it got ugly. I didn’t cause harm but did find myself in need of an attorney. After contacting a few large, expensive law firms, I felt the need to look around and do more research. I found Abigail Rogers. Abigail is a person that was willing to listen, has heart and soul, as well as a very good legal mind. She is honest and is going to tell you how it is. It took a long time but for good reasons, the law moved slow. Abigail stayed with it, kept me informed, represented me and that’s what I really needed. The outcome wasn’t perfect but it was what we expected and the prosecutor, I feel, was fair. If you need a good attorney, who will hear you and put her heart and soul into your case, then pick Abigail Rogers Law.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
