Overview

Steven E. Guenzel has extensive litigation experience, having represented clients in over 100 trials in Nebraska trial courts, including over 30 jury trials in state and federal district courts. A second generation attorney, Mr. Guenzel has argued appeals to the Nebraska Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. With clients including plaintiffs, construction contractors, insurance companies, and several public power districts, his cases have dealt with diverse issues such as product liability, automobile and premises liability, electrical shock and electrocution, stray voltage, the value of lost trees, contracts, wrongful discharge, and the constitutionality of a taxing statute.

He has also handled approximately 15 cases involving fires which caused damages ranging from death and severe personal injury to the destruction of thousands of acres of range land and large numbers of trees. In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Guenzel has been very active in estate planning and probate, helping clients with wills and trusts, and other planning tools, including special needs trusts. Mr. Guenzel has also helped small business clients with forming corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. Mr. Guenzel previously served as an adjunct professor of legal writing the University of Nebraska College of Law and has presented at many seminars.

Mr. Guenzel is now concentrating his practice on wills, trusts, and estates. In the past twenty years, Mr. Guenzel has helped over 300 families transfer over $200,000,000 from deceased family members to their rightful beneficiaries and/or heirs.
