Michael Graves - Henderson, NV

Michael Graves is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience in both federal and state courts, specializing in complex commercial litigation. Over his career, Michael has developed a reputation for crafting effective litigation strategies in high-stakes cases. His work has included representing a Bankruptcy Trustee in adversary actions, managing large-scale civil cases involving multiple defendants and millions of dollars in controversy, and handling hundreds of insurance defense cases. These cases have ranged from racketeering and large-scale property loss to wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims.

Michael’s path to the legal profession has been anything but conventional. He graduated from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Following college, he served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, where he co-piloted KC-130 Hercules missions and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, for four years.

After his military service, Michael transitioned to the financial sector as a financial planner and business owner. His company evaluated the risks and merits of plaintiffs’ lawsuits, reviewing over 2,000 personal injury cases and 300 commercial cases. In this role, he provided expert witness testimony to the IRS in its arbitration program.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2008 and began practicing law shortly thereafter. In addition to his legal practice, Michael purchased and operated a homeowners association management company in 2015, overseeing 15 employees and managing 50 HOAs. He successfully sold the company in 2019.

A resident of the Las Vegas area since 1998, Michael is deeply engaged in his community. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, practicing martial arts, and competing as one of the top-ranked chess players in Nevada.
