    Hired Attorney 2021
Hiring this office was the worst decision of my lifetime. When I entered the office, the environment was cold and unwelcoming. I didn’t have privacy to talk to “a lawyer” instead I talked to a “paralegal” by the time I did talk to a “lawyer” he acted cold as if he didn’t care what happened or what I went through. I only asked him 1 question and it was about the 33 1/3 percent, I asked him, “will my medical bills be paid first and then you take your 33% out the remaining, he replied YES. And the “paralegal” was a witness to the conversation. I didn’t think to get this in writing which turned out to be A HUGE MISTAKE. By the conclusion of my case their lawyer fees totaled $8.7k. I’m paying for 100% of a lawyer and only received 1% of a lawyers attention. They sit and wait for our medical bills to hit some portal so they don’t actually have to go to the places to get them. They already have agreements with their vendors to lower the bills for their clients, so why are we paying them SUCH HIGH LAWYERS FEE’s, when it’s already figured out. Throughout my case, I would email and call and would never have my calls returned. I feel as though they completely disregarded and abandoned me as a client. Their actions are showing me what I already feared, once they had my signature I no longer mattered. They threatened to put a lien on my settlement for $8.7k knowing damn well they haven’t come close to doing $8.7k of work. At one point their refusal to lower their ridiculous attorneys fee’s were leading me to completely walk away from the $25k settlement UNTIL I realized their vendors they WORK WITH could ruin my credit with the unpaid medical bills. Had this not been possible I would’ve completely walked away from the settlement. The first day the sent me to the chiropractor, one of their workers who had no real business being at the location, just walked in to say hi. Like are you serious. This is what you’re getting paid for, to butter up y’all vendors. I should’ve fired them THEN. During my dispute of their lawyers fee’s “a lawyer” insinuated that I should be happy with my settlement amount because their clients don’t usually get this much. Which led me to go to Yelp and OMG! The negative reviews are mortifying. The fact that I was reading my experience with them THROUGH THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. And the positive reviews seems to be robotic. Like they were posted with no emotion behind them. As I read through the negative reviews I see they say they were offered different amounts to alter them. This should be illegal, for them to pay to hide the truth. I wish i would’ve RAN OUT THIS OFFICE when I entered and didn’t see a face that looked like mine. I feel like I’m in a never ending scene of GET OUT. I feel used used. Played played. Like I’m a slave on chains. I wish I would’ve never trusted someone who didn’t have my best interest in mind or heart. I thought lawyers signed oaths to do no harm. I know chiropractors aren’t real doctors but damn you did go to school to learn to heal people, after 28 chiropractors visits and adjustments I’m in worst pain. I was forced to see the chiropractor medical doctor or they wouldn’t treat me. They then forced me to do X-rays or they wouldn’t treat me. I just gave in and basically let them keep me on chains and in line. But enough is enough. They have to know this isn’t ethically or morally right. They say we won’t be taken serious without a lawyer but with a LIEYER WE ARE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. A law need to be set in place to PROTECT US FROM THEM. And not just MINORITIES but everyone who is injured and can’t get a real settlement without a lawyer. I think if your settlement is under $50k their legal fees should be 25% after medical bills are paid.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
