Great attorney. After considering a couple of attorneys, I chose to work with Richard Weaver's office because they were incredible to work with. Responsive, helpful, and I guess I'm cheap, because they were cheaper than the 3 other attorneys I spoke with. In fact, I spoke to one attorney and asked if they could handle an evening appointment... I asked about a 5:30 appointment... and the attorney's response was "well, I leave at 5:00..." As if to say, why would I meet with you at 5:30 if I leave at 5:oo. I couldn't believe that response. These guys were different, they went to lengths to work with my schedule. I didn't love the process, because frankly, it was rough. But their team picked up the phone, even texted with me to guide me through the paperwork they sent me home with. End result, got rid of my credit card debt that was racked up by my ex-wife, even my car that was stolen by my ex-girlfriend was discharged... In the end, I lost my credit score, but there really was not going to be any way for me to get things back on track without some help. Basically, I'm good with money ironically, but bad at choosing women. But I'll get back on track, and I appreciate the help that I got from their office. It's not like I talk about my bankruptcy with people... I'm usually pretty open, but I don't necessarily just talk to people about this experience, but one thing is for sure, if I speak to anyone who really needs bankruptcy, I'll recommend Richard Weaver. He knows his stuff, and his team is extremely helpful.

If you'd been through everything I've had to go through, but then receive this marvelous service at a loyal law office, you really couldn't possibly be at all happier than how happy I am. I'm so grateful for the service I've received and hence I'm glad to provide this grand review for the services I received from them! Richard Weaver with his paralegal Jane were a true blessing for me in mine and my family's life during this entire trying time. Richard was very caring, and his team was efficient. They have shown that they are loyal, reliable as well as helpful. Richard is a great attorney. One notable this was his willingness to give me his cell phone number which I'm sure he doesn't always do, but this was especially helpful when I had extra questions. They were organized, methodical as well as very persistent to get me the results I needed. One other thing that is also guaranteed is the fact that I will definitely work with Richard Weaver if I ever need anyone in the future for a legal matter. I trust him implicitly. I have gotten full control financially now in my life and I'll be equally blessed for the chance to refer anyone I can who also finds themselves down on their luck to use their services. A special Thanks to everyone at Weaver & Associates!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
