I had the distinct pleasure of dealing directly with Lorraine Gauli-Rufo a number of years ago, when she was defending my son. It was a very sad and worry-wrought time for all of my family, but especially my son, of course, and myself, because if you’re a parent, and specifically a mother, you’ll know the deep seated heartbreak involved when it’s your child in trouble. In our case, my son had survived a near fatal car accident, which left him with a TBI (frontal lobe damage), which directly affects your ability to make proper decisions, especially when you’re under 25. Lorraine was not only extremely professional and a relentless advocate in defending him, , she was a compassionate, warm and understanding human being during a horrific time in our lives. I could really go on and on, thinking back, but I don’t want to take up unnecessary time, because it is all extremely personal and very sad.
