Overview

Founder & Managing Attorney | Law Offices of Peter G. Aziz & Associates LLC

Peter G. Aziz founded the firm on a simple principle: a client should always leave better off for having hired their lawyer. He graduated from Widener University School of Law at just 23 — one of the youngest graduates in the school’s history — an early reflection of the discipline, drive, and focus that still define his practice today.

Peter built his career in the courtroom. He has served as lead trial counsel in hundreds of cases tried to verdict, appearing and arguing successfully in both Municipal Court and Superior Court throughout New Jersey. Clients rely on him not only because he knows the law, but because he knows how to advocate with clarity, strategy, and conviction when the stakes are high.

Alongside his litigation and criminal defense work, Peter is a trusted real estate attorney and advisor who has handled thousands of transactions — residential closings, commercial deals, business acquisitions, and complex portfolio matters. Whether negotiating a contract, resolving a dispute, or standing before a judge, he approaches every matter with preparation, purpose, and the belief that each client deserves to feel protected, informed, and heard.

He leads the firm with that same philosophy. His goal is never to overcomplicate a matter or make the process feel distant — it is to protect the client, improve their position, and help them move forward with confidence. Clients can expect honesty, responsiveness, and direct communication from the first conversation forward.

Peter currently serves on the New Jersey Supreme Court’s District VC Ethics Committee, helping uphold standards of professionalism and integrity within the profession. Fluent in English and Arabic, he brings a broad, personal perspective to his work. Outside the office he is a watch collector, a dedicated martial arts enthusiast, and, above all, a family man — reflecting the same values he brings to his practice: discipline, patience, loyalty, and commitment.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
