Attorney Information
Overview
Julie D. Rosen concentrates her practice on estate planning, consulting her clients with care to develop estate plans that consider the questions of “What will happen to my important stuff when I die?” Julie handles each client as though they are her own relative, within a sometimes complex family dynamic. Julie plans for generational wealth transfer, with the minimization of estate and gift taxes, using Wills and various trusts, including, but not limited to, revocable, inter-vivos, testamentary, special needs, and preservation trusts. Julie also handles the preparation of Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and related documents, and is glad to meet her clients at their home, when appropriate. Julie is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. She also handles estate administration, helping relatives manage and wind-up the affairs of their deceased loved ones.
Julie received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland and graduated cum laude from Widener University School of Law, where she was vice president of the Moot Court Honor Society. She authored articles for CCH Incorporated and has lectured for the NJSCPA and the Middlesex County Bar Association.
Julie spends her time outside the office engaging bipartisan voters throughout New Jersey for local, state, and national elections. She is an active member of and co-chairs numerous civic organizations. She has also managed several successful campaigns for local boards of education, town council, and mayoral campaigns.
Julie enjoys lending her time and energy at Toni’s Kitchen (a ministry of St. Lukes Church), with the Federation of Greater MetroWest and for the Union for Reform Judaism in various capacities. She lives in North Jersey, with her husband, two daughters, and two rescue dogs.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
