Hired Attorney 2020-2021Out of all of the lawyers I ever worked with in my life, Mr. Finkler is definitely the worst one. He misguided me throughout the entire process. He did everything in his power to get as much money from me as possible by extending the case out. After a couple of weeks of working for me, he realized that we were deeper in the case than he estimated. He hired people without my consent and on a monthly basis charged me for it. He constantly kept saying he gave me a discounted rate, but he booked time for the most trivial things to run up the bill. Quickly thereafter he became extremely rude and I’ve never seen a lawyer act this disrespectful. His plan was to misguide me and make me dependent on him under the impression that it was too late to get a new lawyer now. He used this tactic to get as much money as possible from me. Stay away from this lawyer if you can! He is also a terrible communicator and researcher. In my outcome, I would have been better off not using this lawyer’s services rather than hiring him. Do yourself a favor and hire someone more competent and less greedy and someone who can actually help fight on your behalf to win the case.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
