Strong Advocacy For Victims Of Medical Negligence And Their Families In New Jersey
Medical mistakes often result in serious and life-altering consequences. At Breslin & Breslin, P.A., in Hackensack, we not only seek compensation for the victims of medical negligence and their families — we also help clients figure out what happened. If you suspect that a failure to diagnose, a misread X-ray, a surgical error or some other medical mistake may have been responsible for a loved one's injury, disability or wrongful death, contact our office for a free consultation and analysis of your claim.
Helping You Get Answers And Compensation
Medical malpractice claims require extensive evaluation and review by medical experts before the claim is even filed in court. We regularly consult with top medical experts who can provide the detailed analysis required to determine if your medical team departed from the recognized standards of care and that your condition resulted from a direct medical error.
About Our Firm
Breslin & Breslin was founded in 1936 by two brothers who were committed to providing ethical and client-focused legal services to the people of New Jersey. In 1960, they hired a young trial lawyer, E. Carter Corriston Sr., who managed the firm for many years. In over 70 years of continuous practice, our firm has grown to include a dynamic and experienced team of personal injury lawyers headed by attorney Donald A. Caminiti. Mr. Caminiti has been listed in the New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine each year since 2005, and he is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Our extensive trial skills and the personal attention we give to our clients are some of the many reasons people in northern Bergen County and New Jersey have turned to us for help in their time of need.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
