Overview
Kelly Berton Rocco is an attorney of counsel with Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, LLC. She represents clients in all aspects of family and matrimonial law matters including divorce, child custody, alimony, child support, equitable distribution, domestic violence, divorce appeals, father’s rights and post-judgment matters, and related family issues.
For Kelly, family law has always been about more than resolving legal disputes. It is an opportunity to help people regain stability, make informed decisions and begin the next chapter of their lives with confidence. This philosophy has guided her practice for more than three decades.
At every stage of a client’s matter, Kelly provides thoughtful counsel, strong advocacy and true clarity. She believes clients should never feel like bystanders in their own case. Instead, she takes the time to demystify the legal process, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of available options and create an approach that reflects her client’s unique priorities and goals.
Guided by her clients’ priorities, Kelly provides candid, practical guidance that helps them focus their time, energy and financial resources where they will have the greatest impact. Whether pursuing settlement through mediation or advocating vigorously in court, her commitment remains the same: achieving the outcome that best positions her clients to enter the next chapter of their lives with peace of mind.
Among Kelly’s many strengths as a family law attorney is her highly regarded work in domestic violence matters and high-conflict custody disputes. She understands that these cases require not only skilled legal representation but also compassion, responsiveness and steady guidance during emotionally challenging times.
For more than 30 years, Kelly has devoted her time and leadership to organizations supporting survivors of domestic violence, foster children and families in crisis. She has served on the Passaic County Board of Child Focus (formerly Passaic County CASA), the Board of Trustees for Center for Hope and Safety (formerly Shelter Our Sisters), volunteered as a pro bono attorney for Alternatives for Domestic Violence, and taught legal education programs for advocacy volunteers and attorneys. In recognition of her longstanding service to domestic violence survivors and their children, she is a recipient of the Center for Hope and Safety’s Humanitarian Award.
Kelly earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Pace University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from William Paterson College of New Jersey. She is admitted to the New Jersey Bar, where she is an active member of Women Lawyers in Bergen, the Bergen County Bar Association Family Law Section and the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section.
When she’s not helping her clients or volunteering, Kelly enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
