Overview

Alfred V. Acquaviva started the Law Offices of Alfred V. Acquaviva, LLC, after being an equity partner in several prominent law firms located in Passaic, Bergen, and Morris counties. He has been an active member of the bar since 1991. His areas of concentration include municipal land use and zoning, municipal law, representation of Boards, both public and private, residential, and commercial real estate, real estate tax appeals, chancery litigation, civil litigation, criminal law, family law, and bankruptcy. He is the Planning Board attorney for the City of Paterson and has also served as special counsel and litigation counsel to the Boroughs of Haledon, Pompton Lakes, Oakland, Bloomingdale, and Vernon in various litigation matters involving issue of land use, insurance defense, contract and lease negotiation, contract litigation, condemnation and in rem tax foreclosures. He was also a municipal prosecutor for the city of Paterson and has acted as special counsel to the Boroughs of Palisades Park, Garfield, and Roseland in various litigation matters. A member of the New Jersey State and Passaic County Bar Associations, Mr. Acquaviva is especially proud of his work with the New Jersey State Bar Association High School Mock Trial Committee for which he has been Passaic County Chair for fourteen (14) years.
