Hired Law firm 2020-2023DO NOT FALL FOR THE FAKE REVIEWS. GOOGLE THIS MAN. HE IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED AS A LAYWER SINCE JULY!!! This man is a fraudster and thinks he’s entitled to money just because he was looped in from a previous case he handled and had failed to inform of potential repercussions with filing a bankruptcy case during an outstanding personal injury claim. Then he goes behind my back to my personal injury lawyer demanding he forward my settlement check to him and his office and that he would send me my money after he takes his fee. My personal injury attorney immediately looped me in by forwarding me his email and calling me. This made Mr. Osterbye very angry and called me several times in a row at a doctors appointment demanding I pay him $900 or he’ll threaten to call the bankruptcy court about my settlement. Because I didn’t know any better I paid this loser $900 after having already paid him $100 consultation just to loop him in on the case that he messed up for me. Do yourselves a favor: DO NOT FALL FOR THE FAKE REVIEWS. GOOGLE THIS MAN. HE IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED AS A LAYWER SINCE JULY!

Hired Law firm 2022-2023The Law Offices of Raymond C. Osterbye, helped me sell my wife’s family home. The home was in foreclosure, and we had to file a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in the interim. All of theses techniques, helped us to legally save money, while selling my wife’s relative’s home. And Mr. Osterbye also assisted my wife’s relatives file for Medicaid. Relatives who were living near by.

Hired Law firm 2023-2024Mr. Osterbye helped my family in an urgent bankruptcy. Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Also took a payment plan. We were able to avoid paying over $100,000 of debt. Credit card bills, medical bills, DMV fees. I was able to get rid of the debt for cars which I took loans on over 20 years ago. Plus he called creditors in the interim. Would totally recommend him.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
