Attorney Information
Overview
Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers
Attorney Christopher Musulin is unique in that he has practiced as both a New Jersey divorce and family law attorney as well as divorce and family law mediator for over 35 years. Due to his extensive experience in both litigation and mediation, he is able to skillfully settle divorce and family law matters with sophisticated negotiations using conflict resolution and, if it is necessitated, is able to aggressively advocate and litigate for his clients from a position of experience and excellence. After decades of representing clients with life-challenging matters coupled with his leadership qualities, Christopher Musulin is capable of handling any legal adversary and all types of New Jersey divorce and family law matters despite whatever complexities.
Christopher Musulin acquired his Juris Doctor in 1988. Christopher Musulin is admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Supreme Court, and by the District of Columbia. Also, in 1995, he completed an intensive training seminar in mediation at the Seton Hall University Institute of Dispute Resolution and subsequently became an Accredited Professional Mediator by the NJ-APM. In 2006 the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a select group of Matrimonial professionals who have demonstrated professionalism and excellence in the practice of law, admitted Christopher Musulin as a Fellow, and subsequently also certified him in 2010 as an Arbitrator for divorce and family law matters. The AAML cites that there are approximately 1650 fellows selected from all 50 states. In 2017, Mr. Musulin renewed his negotiation skillset by attending Harvard University Negotiation Seminar for Family Law Lawyers cosponsored by The Harvard Project on Negotiation and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
In terms of Chris’s professional dedication, integrity, service, scholarship, and knowledge, he recently was honored by the Burlington County Bar Association and given the highest award: The 2024 Haines Award. For years, Christopher Musulin has served on numerous Blue Ribbon and MESP panels; as a member of the NJSBA Family Law Executive Committee; as a liaison for Burlington County to NJSBA Family Law Executive Committee; and as either the Chair or Co-Chair of the Burlington County Bar Association Family Law Committee. Early in his career, he was the 1993 recipient of the Robert W. Criscuolo Award bestowed by the BCBA for contributions to the practice of family law and charitable activities. He believes service to his profession both promotes the standards of his profession and keeps him sharp so that he may better serve his clients. Mr. Musulin has lectured for NJ-ICLE, NJ-AAML, and the New Jersey State and Burlington County Bar Associations, and has authored numerous articles for the New Jersey Family Lawyer (a scholarly publication) and New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He has helped organize many professional seminars over the years in a "Moderator" capacity.
In 2008, Christopher Musulin founded and remains the principal of the Musulin Law Firm, LLC, located across the street from the NJ Superior Court, Burlington County, Mt. Holly, NJ. His law firm is a boutique divorce and family law firm focused solely on the practice of divorce law, family law, mediation and domestic violence matters. His legal team consists of three lawyers including himself, supported by a well-trained and experienced legal staff who have worked together for decades. For years Christopher Musulin has guided people who have family matters with life-changing consequences; he does not take lightly helping each client navigate their way through the legal system. He is very familiar with the courts located in Burlington County, Camden County, Gloucester County and Mercer County, and will offer you a wise legal strategy in order to achieve your best outcome. Christopher Musulin, when he is not lawyering, spends time on his farm with his family, runs at 4-5:00 a.m. on a 356-days-a-year basis (rain, sleet, hail or shine) and enjoys walking his rescue dog Amelia.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2019-2021A highly ethical, experienced, and professional group of people with a genuine desire to help folks effectively navigate legal channels to achieve a fair and favorable outcome. Came across Musulin Lawyer Firm by chance, or perhaps fate, during a very desperate and vulnerable period of my life-separation and divorce. I spent days searching, with numerous consults, but knew this firm was the one for me after speaking to Chris. Within five minutes I was struck by how different he was by comparison. Instead of playing on my anger and frustration, to secure a client, he empathized and saw that I was in a bad way. At no point did I ever feel like I was being sold a lavish dream or pressured any which way; Chris was always straight with me, laid everything out (good/bad/ugly) and I was reassured because I knew he “would only spend money if the return was worth it.” Whenever emotions would get the best of me, Chris would always get me to see reason. Admittedly this was initially a challenge which only decreased as my trust in his experience and advice increased. TRUST IN CHRIS, HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!!! The process took about two years, start to finish, and the team was there every step of the way; even on weekends! While Chris was my primary attorney, you are really getting the expertise and support of the entire firm. It is truly a group effort over there. Whether it is Christina, Tom, Kellyanne, Tina, Pamela or Simon, rest assured that every interaction will be professional and compassionate. Know that you will be actively informed on all matters related to your case and that you will be adequately briefed on all possible outcomes every time you go before the court. I will forever be impressed by how responsive and committed they are to seeing you through whatever situation. Finally, if money is an issue, which it very well might be; be up front and talk to the firm administrators-they will work with you! Cannot say enough good things about this firm; excellent people with amazing service and support!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
