Attorney Information
Overview
Kendal Sim graduated cum laude from Fordham University School of Law. While attending law school, he was a member of the Fordham Urban Law Journal. Kendal is admitted to practice before the state courts of New York and New Jersey as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.
Kendal began his legal career working primary in the commercial litigation department prosecuting and defending cases involving contract disputes, labor law claims and matrimonial law. However, Kendal also worked in personal injury department and successfully resolved numerous cases. After gaining valuable experience in the commercial litigation department, Kendal decided to devote this practice solely to personal injury law where he found helping those wrongfully injured due to the negligence of others to be the most rewarding aspect of his profession.
Kendal now focuses on achieving the individual goals required by his clients, taking into account the unique circumstances of each client to determine the best course of action. Kendal has settled cases pre-litigation to achieve quick and favorable results for his clients. He has also litigated cases when warranted, such as when the at-fault carrier presents unsatisfactory offers or attempts to disclaim liability. In sum, Kendal has a track record of obtaining favorable results tailored to meet the individual needs of his clients.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
