John Chen is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School, during which he interned with a judge of the New York State Supreme Court and a judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court - Eastern District of New York. After law school, he worked as an associate attorney at boutique law firms in the New York City area where he gained experience in litigation and transactional matters. John is currently admitted in the states of New York and New Jersey, as well as the federal District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the federal District Court of New Jersey.
Prior to his admission to the Bar, John worked for property management firms and was involved with managing and developing a diverse real estate portfolio including both commercial and residential properties in New York and New Jersey.
At KLP, John specializes in prosecuting and defending complex commercial litigation involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, partnership disputes, fraud, employment, and shareholder disputes and derivative actions.
Fueled by over a decade of experience in real estate management, John is thoroughly well-versed in real estate-related issues including landlord & tenant matters, commercial and residential leasing, and numerous transactions. John continues to provide counseling to property owners on how to best manage their properties with cost-effective measures to maximize their investment returns.
