Alexandra Macaluso, Esquire is an Associate Attorney at Fusco & Macaluso Attorneys at Law. Alexandra is a passionate advocate with vast experience in Criminal Law, Civil Practice and Matrimonial Law. Additionally, she represents members of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). Alexandra is a gifted former prosecutor-turned criminal defense attorney who uses her experience on both sides of the justice system advocate for her clients and provide positive outcomes. As an out-of-the-box thinker, Alexandra crafts an individualized approach tailor-made for each of her clients’ cases.Alexandra graduated Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University in 2014, with a degree in Legal Studies. There, she was inducted into Lambda Epsilon Chi, the National Honor Society of Legal Studies and Kappa Alpha Theta, Eta Xi chapter.
While attending Quinnipiac University, she worked for multiple law firms practicing in various areas as of the law, including the same areas she now practices: criminal, matrimonial, and personal injury. Additionally, she held a Federal Judicial Internship in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She later attended Seton Hall University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate (JD). Prior to practicing law as an attorney, Alexandra held a judicial internship in the Federal Court and clerked for the now Presiding Criminal Judge in the Hudson County Vicinage. During law school, Alexandra worked for both the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, beginning her career in criminal law. Upon earning her JD in 2017, Alexandra served as a law clerk for the now Presiding Criminal Judge in the Hudson County Vicinage. In addition to immersing herself in both criminal and civil practice, Alexandra went on to earn a certification in both Legal Mediation, and Special Civil Part and Landlord/Tenant Court. After her judicial clerkship, Alexandra became an Assistant Prosecutor at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office. During that time, she practiced in multiple units, including the Pre Trial Unit, Juvenile Unit, and Task Force Unit. She dealt with Criminal Justice Reform (CJR) and handled hundreds of cases from intake to disposition. During her time as a prosecutor, Alexandra investigated and prosecuted a variety of crimes spanning the entire New Jersey Criminal Code, including attempted murder, assaults, narcotic and firearm possession or distribution, sexual assault, fraud, robberies, burglaries, and more.
Her experience as a former prosecutor affords her a unique approach to her representation of clients who now require defense counsel. Alexandra is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Alexandra is part of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Passaic County Bar Association.
