Attorney Information
Overview
Brian A. Roemersma has been practicing law since 1998 in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and concentrates his practice in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury and disability. He is a graduate of Phillipsburg Catholic High School, King’s College and Roger Williams University School of Law. Upon graduation, he served a one-year clerkship for the Honorable John F. Kingfield, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Warren County. During his summers as a law student, Brian worked manual labor jobs where he witnessed firsthand the toll that physical injuries took on his co-workers. As time went on, he recognized that he wanted to help injured workers who were not being treated fairly by their employers and their insurance companies. As a result, he has dedicated his career solely to representing injured workers. Brian understands that being a good listener and forming a bond with his clients helps his clients navigate the litigation process comfortably together, working hard to make every client feel important. Brian is recognized by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a certified workers’ compensation attorney. He is a member of the Warren County Bar Association, the Northampton County Bar Association, the New Jersey Council on Safety & Health (NJCOSH), and Justice James H. Coleman, Jr. Workers Compensation Inn of Court. Brian has also been recognized in the past as a New Jersey Super Lawyer and has received the Justice Daniel J. O’Hern Award for professionalism.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
