Admitted to New Jersey and Federal District Court Bars
Ms. McOmber earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cornell University where she was elected Class Vice President, President of the Prelaw Society, and was inducted into the Junior Women's Honorary Society. She attended Rutgers University School of Law in Newark and while a student married fellow student Richard D. McOmber. On the basis of scholastic achievement, she was selected and served as a Member of the Rutgers Law Review.
Following law school, Ms. McOmber served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps for three years in the Washington, D.C. area. She was assigned to Fort Myer, Virginia as a Legal Assistance Officer and subsequently to the Office of The Judge Advocate General in the Pentagon. She is a recipient of an Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service.
After returning to civilian life, Ms. McOmber started a law practice in Fair Haven, New Jersey as a sole practitioner specializing in matrimonial law until she and her husband joined together to form the law firm of McOmber & McOmber. She is the Managing Officer of the firm and practices in the areas of business, banking and finance, commercial and residential real estate, and wills and probate.
Ms. McOmber was active in the Monmouth Bar Association for many years and served as a Trustee of the Association as well as Chairperson of several committees including the Family Law Committee. She was the first woman elected to serve as President of the Monmouth Bar Association.
She is a member of St. Stepanos Armenian Apostolic Church in Elberon, New Jersey and is a Life Member and volunteer for the Holocaust, Genocide & Human Rights Education Center at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, New Jersey. She is the mother of R. Armen McOmber, Esq. and Christian V. McOmber, Esq., both of the firm, and has four grandchildren.
