Mr. Tobin also has experience as a personal injury attorney defending lawsuits on behalf of businesses throughout the State of New Jersey. He has defended many lawsuits which resulted in favorable settlements and won several motions which resulted in the dismissal of lawsuits on behalf of his clients. Mr. Tobin has also represented several injured clients who sustained severe and permanent personal injury as a result of motor vehicle or fall-down accidents and negotiated favorable settlements on their behalf.
Mr. Tobin earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree fromNew York University,Magna Cum Laudein 2005 where he majored in Sociology and minored in Spanish. During college, Mr. Tobin also worked extensively at a personal injury law firm in Newark where he gained valuable, hands-on experience early in his professional career in personal injury litigation. Subsequent to graduating from college, Mr. Tobin attended law school atSeton Hall University School of Lawwhere he graduated in 2009. While he was in law school, Mr. Tobin gained extensive legal experience working for law firms representing the injured as well Staff Counsel for Travelers Insurance where he had the opportunity to apply his legal education to the real world at a very early stage in his legal career.
Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Tobin worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Dennis F. Carey, III, J.S.C. at the Essex County Superior Court. Judge Carey is presently the Presiding Judge for the Civil Division of the Essex Vicinage which is considered one of the largest and busiest dockets in the State of New Jersey. In this position, Mr. Tobin was responsible for all motion practice, including the scheduling, review, and analysis of all submissions, as well as extensive research for issues arising during trial. Mr. Tobin evaluated meritorious legal positions and articulated appropriate recommendations for court rulings, and managed an entire claims docket for litigation proceedings such as motion hearings, trials, settlement conferences, and case management conferences. Mr. Tobin also served as a mediator to disputes amongst litigants.
Subsequently, Mr. Tobin worked for over six years at Wolff, Helies, Spaeth & Lucas as an associate where he was responsible for the full management of numerous personal injury, employment, and construction defect cases, including the defense of numerous school districts throughout New Jersey and accidents occurring at a major supermarket chain’s various locations in New Jersey. In order to pursue his passion for representing clients wronged in the workplace, Mr. Tobin joined the law firm of McOmber & McOmber, P.C. as an associate in 2018.
He lives in Toms River with his wife, Rebecca Tobin, an Employment Specialist with the New Jersey Reentry Corporation which is a non-profit agency with the social mission of removing all barriers to employment for those reentering the workplace following incarceration. Mr. Tobin has a musical background in drums and a long devoted passion for Rock & Roll since a very young age. He has attended a large number of concerts in his lifetime throughout the United States, including many repeat performances from his favorite musical performers. Mr. Tobin is also a lifelong baseball fan and has traveled to many Major League Baseball ballparks.
