Thomas J. Bonfiglio Esq. - Red Bank, NJ

Before his retirement from the practice of law in 2021, Thomas J. Bonfiglio was a Certified Public Accountant and Attorney with over 30 years' experience. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Pace University in 1982 and his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1987 and was admitted to practice in the state courts of New York and New Jersey, as well as in the United States Tax Court, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of New York and the District of New Jersey. He and Joseph J. Asterita, Esq., were partners in the law firm known as Bonfiglio & Asterita, LLC for nearly 20 years before his retirement in 2021. Tragically, Tom passed away at the age of 62 in 2022, 1 year to the day after he retired from practice. The law firm continues today as Asterita & Associates, LLC – Attorneys at Law.

Mr. Bonfiglio established his accounting firm and law practice in 1989, after gaining substantial legal experience as a tax attorney for the "big 6" accounting firm Arthur Anderson & Co., and as tax counsel to Sony USA. Until his retirement Mr. Bonfiglio counseled a broad range of clients on an array of legal and tax matters, including estate and business succession planning, business structing and represented clients before Federal and State tax authorities as well as the United States Tax Court. He provided counsel and representation to a wide variety of business clients in corporate and commercial transactions and served the needs of his clients on a full range of real property transactions including private and commercial real estate purchases, sales, financing and leases as well as managing the firm’s mortgage loan closing department by representing mortgage lenders in various loan transactions. Mr. Bonfiglio's knowledge and experience served our clients well when they needed not just a lawyer, but also a trusted advisor to provide comprehensive solutions to complex legal problems.
