Marize Helmy is a partner at the Estate Planning and Elder Law firm of Manna Helmy Law Group, formerly known as Michael A. Manna & Associates. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from Fordham University in 2008 and her Juris Doctor from SUNY at Buffalo Law School in 2011.
While in law school, Marize served as President of the Buffalo Public Interest Law Program, where she led fundraising initiatives to support unpaid public interest internships. She also worked in the Career Services Office and was actively involved in adjudicating student conduct matters, ultimately serving as Assistant Chief of the Student-Wide Judiciary. Upon graduation, she received a law school award recognizing her outstanding contributions to the community.
Marize has several philanthropic desires and in the past has volunteered her time translating and filing immigration applications for victims of domestic violence and contributed to rehabilitative and innovative court initiatives, including the Newark Drug Courts and the Child Welfare Improvement Projects.
Currently, Marize serves on the board of trustees at Ramapo College and is treasurer of the board. In addition, she also serves as on the board of trustees and as treasurer of a church in Bergen County, NJ. Alongside of her service there, Marize regularly teaches at local community schools and provides continuing education instruction to social workers on topics such as elder law, guardianships, and professional ethics.
Marize is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Bergen County Bar Association. Ms. Helmy has been recognized by Thomson Reuters as a New Jersey Super Lawyer and Rising Star consecutively from 2020 through 2025.
