Phillip C. Wiskow is Of Counsel at Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri Webb LLC. Phil is also a Member of the Gelman Gelman Wiskow & McCarthy LLC law firm. With over 38 years of experience, Phil has successfully litigated more than 15 cases that resulted in settlements or verdicts of over a million dollars. He has also tried more than 125 jury trials to completion in the state and federal courts.

Phil is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney. Less than two percent of all trial attorneys in New Jersey have earned this distinction. Certification involves a rigorous application process that requires lawyers to demonstrate a high level of experience and knowledge in civil law, successful completion of a written examination, and recognition by peers as having superb litigation skills and a solid reputation for professionalism and ethics. Phil has been certified for more than 25 years.

In 2009, the New Jersey Association for Justice (the state’s largest group of trial attorneys) asked Phil to argue an important case before the New Jersey Supreme Court. This was his second appearance before the Supreme Court that year. In 2013, Phil successfully argued his third case before the NJ Supreme Court and made “new law” in the area of ski safety.

Phil is passionate about social justice. He prides himself on his ability to take on cases most other attorneys would not even consider, and he wins many of them. Recently, he negotiated a $750,000 settlement on a case three (3) other law firms rejected. Phil’s mother was the victim of medical malpractice, and his motto is that the client always comes first, no questions asked.

Phil was born in Jersey City and raised in Wharton. He resides in Avon by the Sea, N.J., with his wife, Carey, and French bulldog, Hugo. He enjoys physical exercise, golf, reading, and traveling during his free time. He also enjoys most sports and hopes to watch “his Jets” win a Super Bowl again.
